Samvera
Samvera is a weekly event that brings together Icelandic learners and Icelandic speakers.
Together, we will get to know each other over coffee and chat about Icelandic nature and society, while practicing the language in a safe and friendly environment.

Samvera - outdoors
Nature walks
Every Saturday from April 18th to May 30th
Then September 5th to September 26th
From 11:30 to 13:30
Together we will get to know each other over a cup of coffee and chat about Icelandic nature and society in a friendly and safe environment, while enjoying the outdoors.
All are welcome who are interested in the outdoors and want to meet new people, regardless of language. We will meet at the library in Gerðuberg (Breiðholt, 11 Reykjavík), have a coffee and chat a bit before going for a light walk nearby and in the Elliðaárdalur valley. When the weather is very bad we will stay at the library and play board games.
The library is on the upper floor of a house at Gerðuberg 3-5 in Breiðholt. Buses: 3, 4, 12, 17 (stop: FB).'
The walk will be led by teachers of Icelandic as a second language.

Samvera - What's new?
Let's read the news together
Every Saturday from October 3rd to December 19th
From 11.30 to 13.30
Come have coffee and read Icelandic news with other learners and Icelandic people. Join if you want to learn more complex vocabulary, discuss what is going on in Iceland and learn about important topics that might affect you. We will use news articles in easy to understand Icelandic. This is supposed to be a safe space for learners and we will avoid news articles that are too divisive or traumatic. Board games will also be on offer.
The event will be led by teachers of Icelandic as a second language.

Samljóða
Poetry workshops
Every Wednesday from September 16th to December 2nd
From 16:30 to 18:00
During these events, Icelandic learners and native or fluent speakers alike will play with the Icelandic language to create poems. The workshops will be led by both Icelandic writers and writers with Icelandic as a second language. Details will be confirmed later in the year.
